Overview and Goals
The Foundation supports a number of Bay Area science and technology museums to increase scientific awareness and literacy. These museums have a strong focus on educational programs for students and teachers, as well as a research component.
The Foundation makes grants to support the development of new programs and exhibits to further engage the public in science and technology, and to provide educators, students, and the public with increased exposure to a richness of scientific information.
To date, the Foundation has awarded more than $27 million in grants to Bay Area science and technology museums. Together, these museums attract 2.9 million visitors annually.
